Summer School Language4Real integrates intensive English language tuition with project based language activities. This maximises the students’ use of the English language while they experience and enjoy the life and culture of Scotland.
Summer School English L4R intensive classes teach all the basics of English language and at the same time train students to use natural English in real life situations.
There is an exciting social program, and language course fees include English language study tours of Edinburgh and Loch Ness.
The HIJIYAMA UNIVERSITY ‘CALEDON’ program has run since 1998 as the accredited English Language Summer School of Hijiyama University, Japan. The CALEDON program fully integrates intensive English language study with use of English in natural, everyday situations.
The CALEDON program also promotes Japanese language and culture in Edinburgh. It offers short intensive courses in the Japanese language and in aspects of Japanese culture such as calligraphy, ikebana (flower arranging), and soran bushi (traditional dance).
The Caledon program is ideal for those students who want to learn English and also have an interest in the Japanese language and culture. Hijiyama Caledon students invite you to join them in class and on their social and cultural activities.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES at L4R:
Pre-intermediate Grammar Foundation and Basic Skills Provides a solid basis in grammar and trains students in basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing strategies and techniques.
Intermediate Grammar and Skills Develops knowledge of English grammar and sensitivity to its natural use in context. Training in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Cambridge First Certificate Exam (FCE) – Upper-intermediate level
Cambridge Advanced English Exam (CAE) – Advanced level
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) – Advanced level
A flexible module-based timetable makes it easier for students to work and study at the same time. It also allows students to focus on those areas of the exam that they find most difficult.
An ‘Online Writing Module’ offers intensive online training in General English and Academic writing styles. Students receive individualised feedback on their writing.
